    Berthing aid system for FPSO / FSRU / FLNG / SPM

    Our Berthing Aid System provides relative positioning for FPSO/FLNG/FSRU and ShuttleTanker in tandem, side by side mooring or ship to buoy mooring situations. Options enable the system to be customised to suit the requirements and safety thresholds of multiple applications.

    System Overview

    • Installed in the Central Control Room (CCR)
      Fully integrated system cabinet located within the FPSO's CCR for centralized monitoring and control.

    • High-Precision GNSS Positioning
      Includes a single Dual Frequency Multi-GNSS Smart Antenna and a dedicated UHF antenna for robust signal reception and transmission.

    • Gyro Interface for Heading Data
      Interfaces directly with the FPSO’s gyrocompass to provide accurate heading information for navigation and control systems.

    • RTK Base Station Functionality
      Acts as an RTK correction source, transmitting data via UHF link to the PPU XR2 unit installed on the Shuttle Tanker, enabling high-accuracy relative positioning during tandem operations.

    • Optional ESD Interface Integration
      Supports an Emergency Shutdown (ESD) interface with relay closure functionality. Triggered by signal from the Shuttle Tanker’s ESD system for enhanced safety protocols.

    • NMS (Alarm Monitoring) Interface
      Provides up to three alarm interfaces using dry contact connections for integration with the FPSO’s Network Management System (NMS) or alarm panels.

    • Workstation Support
      A dedicated workstation can be supplied with the system (optional), or the existing CCR workstation can be used, offering flexible deployment options.

    • Navigation & Docking Software
      Comes with a Qastor enabling advanced navigation, real-time docking guidance, and situational awareness for control room operators.

    XR2 Portable Pilot Unit

    • Measures Position Heading Rate of Turn and Speeds of the Shuttle Tanker relative to the FPSO
    • Sends data over UHF Link to FPSO Hawser monitoring interface option
    • Ruggedised Laptop (GETAC V110)
    • Qastor Navigation and Docking License (USB Dongle)
    • Portable ESD Pod (Optional) to initiate Emergency Shut Down (ESD) of Pumping
    • “Pelican” Case (Optional) to store and transport XR2 and Laptop
    • A single simplex UHF frequency is used, employing Time Division Multiple
    • Access (TDMA) techniques to prevent interference.

    Efficiency

    • Supports Mooring Masters during approach with real time reliable relative HDG ROT COG SOG

    • Allows efficient reconnection of turret in the event a disconnect is required
